The High Desert Nexus
Spanning roughly 8,000 square miles in south-central Colorado, the San Luis Valley sits at an altitude of 7,600 feet, ringed by the Sangre de Cristo and San Juan mountain ranges. It is widely considered by paranormal investigators to be one of North America's premier "window areas"—regions characterized by a high concentration of UFO sightings, cryptid encounters, and electromagnetic anomalies.
Snippy the Horse & Livestock Anomalies
In September 1967, the valley made national headlines following the death of a horse named "Snippy" (Lady) near Alamosa. The animal was found with surgical-like incisions around its neck and head, completely drained of blood, with zero tracks leading to or from the carcass. Soil samples at the site exhibited elevated background radiation and altered mineral properties.
The UFO Watchtower
In 2000, local resident Judy Messoline established the San Luis Valley UFO Watchtower near Hooper, Colorado. To date, observers from the platform have logged over 300 verified sightings of silent, fast-moving craft, disc-shaped objects, and high-altitude glowing plasma formations navigating the clear mountain skies.
